MARS II meets the requirements of ISO 10651-5:2006 and European Resuscitation Council Guidelines for Resuscitation 2010 for ventilatory resuscitators. The MARS II is available in all regional gas-standards. MARS II can be used for children (20 kg), small adults and adults.
FEATURES
Simple to use
Robust design to withstand harsh environments
Can be enabled for automatic or manual (CPR) resuscitation
The GCE Medical, MARS II is a manual (CPR) and automatic resuscitator and based around three central components : Control Module – Demand Valve – Regulator or integrated valve. Depending on the needs and national standards the MARS II can be delivered in many variants. In combinations the following features will be delivered.
AUTOMATIC VOLUME CYCLED RESUSCITATION
The gas supply passes through the automatic channel and is delivered to the patient as a specific inhalation/exhalation breathing program in accordance with the body weight, as set on the flow selector.
AUTOMATIC SWITCH TO BREATHING ON DEMAND
When consciousness is regained, the patient will draw gas through the patient valve from the demand supply side of the module. The sensing of this flow instantly shuts down the automatic breathing program.
AUTO-RETURN TO AUTOMATIC RESUSCITATION
Should spontaneous breathing lapse the module will sense the lack of flow; and volume cycled resuscitation will resume within 5-7 seconds.
AUDIBLE ALARM
Set at 46 cm H20 pressure and mounted in the patient valve, an audible warning of airway blockage or over-pressurization of the patient is given to the operator.
OVERRIDE TRIGGER
Mounted in the patient valve, the override trigger enables the operator to perform initial lung saturation and manual resuscitation. On operation of the trigger, the automatic cycle will shut down but restart if the trigger is not re-operated within 5-7 seconds. Total manual operation for use in conjunction with cardiopulmonary massage can be undertaken by selecting the ‘MAN’ position on the flow selector.
